So, you’ve got questions. 

Well, you’re going to get a lot of advice as you travel down the road as a new business owner. Some of it will be good, and some of it you’ll wish you had never listened to. But, at this early stage of the game it’s hard to tell who’s right and who’s wrong. Sadly, the one thing I can almost guarantee that you’ll get bad advice on… is your brand. Why is that? Why is it so misunderstood?

However, watching videos isn’t always convenient, so hopefully this will give you enough information to satisfy your thirst for knowledge until you're able to sit down and watch the first course.

Every person that you know has a personality and an identity, right? A brand is the same thing, but for a businesses. A brand is all about the impressions, interactions, and memories that someone has with that business. Just like how a person’s appearance, behavior, and reputation helps you to decide whether or not you want to interact with them again, or even for the first time, and on what level, a business’s brand should create the same feelings. This is called “creating a connection.”

Why is a brand so important?

The brand isn’t just important, it’s the most important part of your business. That’s because it should do all of the marketing work for you. There’s going to be plenty of times when you or one of your staff isn’t available to speak with a customer. Who is going to do the work then? Well, it’s up to your brand to make the sale. I’m sure you can think of several times where you’ve walked into a store pure because the sign above the door looked promising, and then walked out with a new product without having a sales person convince you to buy anything. I’m sure you can also think of a few times where you might’ve made a purchase but the stores appearance made you uncomfortable. You see? The brand can make or break the sale.

It’s the brand that people will remember. It’s the brand that people will interact with. It’s the brand that people are talking about, sharing, and referring. It's the brand that people are buying.

 

How do you create a connection?

The first thing that you need to do is something, anything, that will grab attention. Wait... positive attention. Don't go crazy okay? Some ideas might be a heartwarming story, a fun video, a catchy slogan, or really even something a simple as a few bright colors.

Anything that makes people stop what they are doing and take notice, even if it’s just for an instant. Once you’ve done that then you’ve created the initial connection that the rest of your client/customer interactions will be based on. From there you’ll use images, stories, and more interactions to strengthen that connection, and even create some new ones.

 

Why is it important to stand out?

Think about the product or service that you’re selling. It’s not easy to admit, but not everyone will have a use or be interested in that product or service. However, there will be a lot of people who are.

Now, let’s think about them for a minute. They’re out there actively looking for the type of product or service that you’re selling and they’ll buy the first, maybe second, option that they find. If your product or service is the most obvious choice then they won’t know to buy it. By standing out as much as possible your company becomes the first option for a lot of consumers, and that will be the product or service that they choose.

The first thing that you’ll find on the other side of the portal door is a series of courses that help explain how to properly set up your brand and the tools to use it to market properly. If for some reason the videos don’t answer all of your questions then there’s also a forum where you can go to get more specific answers and ideas.

How much does it cost?

There are two different ways that you can sign up. You can pay a monthly subscription fee of $20 per month to get access to everything inside the portal. With this option you can cancel at any time if for some reason you’re not satisfied. The alternative is to pay for the entire year upfront. Registering for the year all at once comes with a discount that will save you a little bit of money.

How do I use the forum?

The forum is there to help you with any of the more specific questions or issues that you might encounter while running your company. You can read through questions asked by other members, post your own question, ask for advice with something you’re working on, or even share a success that you’ve had.
